Jeff D. Kottkamp took the oath of office as Florida’s 17th Lieutenant Governor on January 2, 2007. As
Lt. Governor, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Space Florida, Chairman of the Florida Sports Foun-
dation, Chairman of Florida’s Children’s and Youth Cabinet and oversees the Florida Department of
Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles, Governor’s Office of Adoption and Child Protection, Florida’s Film
and Entertainment initiatives and the Governor’s Office of Drug Control. He also Chairs the Davis Pro-
ductivity Awards program. Kottkamp is a member of the National Lieutenant Governors’ Association
and was elected to the NLGA Executive Committee in 2007. In 2008, Governor Charlie Crist appointed
Kottkamp to serve as the Chairman of the Governor’s Homeownership Promotes the Economy “HOPE”
Task Force, as well as Chairman of the Florida Title Insurance Study Advisory Council.
 
James Sweeney, a Director in Global Strategy research for Credit Suisse in New York City. James is a
senior researcher for Credit Suisse and frequently travels internationally to present his views. His research team has a large following and has been ranked highly by industry publications. His Market Focus reports are read by leading fund managers, and recent work has focused on the nature of the current economic and financial crisis from an historical perspective. James has degrees from the London School of Economics (MSc Economics) and Florida State (BS Economics and Political Science with Phi Beta Kappa honors).  He is a member of the American Economic Association, the International Institute for Strategic Studies, and the Royal Institute for International Affairs. James will speak on Florida's economy and its connectedness in the world economy.
